SW150C SEAWATER - BARROW ISLAND
Rotech Water designed and manufactured this 150kL/day seawater RO system for a concrete batching company as part of their supply package. The system was to be located on a support barge attached to the new Module Offloading Facility and would be supplying the customer with permeate of a specific quality for the production of concrete. Some of the challenges we faced in designing the system were high turbidity seawater feed due to the nearby dredging and piling operations, high potential for biological fouling, tight product water parameters and high power cost. To manage these challenges our design featured overspec filtration area allowing very low flowrates, system sterilisation measures, product water pH control and energy recovery to keep power requirements to a minimum.
